The Global Hospitality Industry s to see a lot of new brands in the market, since the luxury chains like Hyatt, Langham , Loews Hotels are launching new brands focussing youths, concentrating on value design, technology and culinary experiences.
Hyatt Hotels & Resorts just announced “Hyatt Centric” which is designed to appeal to both business and leisure travellers. They have an ambitious plan to go for this summer, with more than 15 locations in cities such as New York, Paris, Miami, Chicago and Atlanta.
Loews Hotels & Resorts has announced plans to launch the OE Collection, a managed group of luxury lifestyle hotels. “OE” stands for Original Experiences, according to Loews CEO Paul Whetsell. It’s not a license or franchise – we will be the operator. While the typical Loews hotel has 200 or more rooms, the OE Collection will feature smaller properties of 150 or fewer rooms and feature more adventurous design than the flagship brand.
Known for glorious luxury Hong Kong based Langham Hotels is busy in developing & designing a new brand “Cordis” which will be an answer to Starwood’s Westin and Fairmont. Sascha Lang, Vice President, Design and Technical Services, Langham Hospitality Group
Sascha Lang is responsible for overseeing the design and technical development of all Langham properties globally. He is currently working on seven projects in China, namely two Langham Place hotels in Changsha and Dalian, four Cordis properties in Hongqiao, Shanghai, Qingdao and Nanjing plus an Eaton also in Shanghai.
The company is opening its first Cordis in May, converting one of its existing hotels in Hong Kong. The new brand will start primarily in China and other parts of Asia but is also exploring sites in the U.S.
These developments are happening to target Millennial travellers, those in their 20s and early 30s. Their purchasing power is expected to grow exponentially.
Best Western will soon launch Vib. InterContinental Hotels Group has acquired, Kimpton, one of the largest boutique hotel chains in the country. Earlier this year, Hilton Worldwide and Carlson Rezidor launched Curio and Quorvus Collection
