Apeejay Surrendra Group, which is in the hospitality sector with the Park Hotels, has launched its new brand ‘Zone by The Park’.Zone by The Park Hotels are looking for total six properties which will be opened under this brand in the country by October this year and two of these will be in Tamil Nadu – Chennai and Mamallapuram.
The group already has luxury boutique hotels under The Park Hotels brand and it conceived the Zone by The Park three years ago.It plans to have 20 to 25 properties under the brand in another five years. The design, furniture and service specifications are standardised for the brand and there will be local flavour too in each city. “It is a price and design conscious brand in the mid-segment,” they mention.The Zone has been designed in such a way that there is space for networking, dining, working, and entertainment at the hotel apart from the rooms. “As a brand they intend to be a social catalyst.” Occupancy level in the mid-segment hotels in the country is about 70 per cent and the group is looking at 65 per cent to 70 per cent occupancy here in another six months.Hospitality chain Apeejay Surrendra Park Hotels, that runsThe Park Hotels in the country, has forayed into the mid-market segment by launching ‘Zone by The Park’ hotels and is eyeing 20-25 properties in next 4-5 years under this brand.”The company is already developing four properties with around 300 rooms under Zone by The Park, of which two hotels, one in Raipur and another in Coimbatore, will be operational by the end of this year”, Priya Paul mentions.The other two subsequent properties are being developed in Dehradun and Delhi, she added.The overall manpower is expected to be around 400 after the completion of all four properties, Paul said.’Zone by The Park’ will primarily be managed properties with an average room tariff of about Rs 3,500-5,000 per night depending on the city and location, she said.
“We have decided to go for the contract management model for this brand and will focus on design, food and beverage,” Paul said.
Luxury boutique hotels Apeejay Surrendra Park Hotels had recently said it will invest Rs 1,200 crore over the next 4-5 years to set up four new properties that will add over 800 rooms. Currently the chain has 12 properties with over 1,200 rooms in total.
